It took a while, but finally a big content update will appear for EA's Star Wars: Battlefront 2. The game is now a year on the shelves and as promised, Battlefront 2 has no season pass received with which gamers can download extensions for a fee. Soon after the release of the game we were able to get started with the in-game season of The Last Jedi and in May it appeared Solo season.
Fans of the game series, however, have been looking forward to the moment when characters and maps from the prequel movies can be played. At the end of last month General Grievous appeared and in one week players with Obi-Wan Kenobi can start on the largest Battlefront 2 map so far: Geonosis! Anakin Skywalker and Count Dooku will be in the game from the beginning of 2019.
The new update for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will appear 28 November on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
X-Wing Wave III announced
Always wanted a detailed miniature Jedi Starfighter? Which can! Games maker Fantasy Flight Games announced today Wave III for X-Wing. This wave mainly gives us the previously promised Clone Wars content with the new playable factions Republic and Seperatist.
Jedi and clones what the clock strikes in Wave III. The Galactic Republic pops into the game with three expansions. The ARC-170, Anakin's Delta-7 Jedi Starfighter, and the Guardians of the Republic Squadron Pack, which contains two V-19 Torrents and Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter. With characters like Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka and Palpatine the start has been made for a fleet of Force users.
The Separatist Alliance also flies the playing field with three expansions. Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator, Vulture-class Droid Fighter, and the Servants or Strike Squadron Pack with Grievous' Belbullab-22 and two Vultures. With Maul, Dooku and Grievous the biggest villains from the old era are already represented. Now their swarm of droid starfighters still.
In addition to the new ships, two classics will also be transferred from the first version of X-Wing. The Z-95-AF4 Headhunter for Scum and the TIE Striker for Empire. No content that veterans have not already received in the conversion kits, but for new players two worthy additions.
X-Wing Wave III will be in stores in the spring of 2019. Curious? read our review from the basic game!
Clone Wars for X-Wing and Legion
GenCon is launching today, the largest games fair in the world. As always, publisher Fantasy Flight Games gave her panel there on the eve of the convention. A lot of news for her three biggest Star Wars miniatures games, but the biggest news had to share two games. X-Wing en Legion are both expanding with the two factions from the prequel! Soon it will be possible to imitate the fighting from the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Seperatists on land or in the air. But there was more ...
As said, two prequel factions were announced for X-Wing next year, with the Jedi Starfighter and Sith Infiltrator being the first to be promised. However, closer attention was also being paid to the horizon. Wave 2 brings after the Rebels, Empire, and Scum the last two original factions. The Resistance and First Order Conversion Kits ensure that old X-Wing players can use their already purchased ships in Second Edition. We also get separate T-70 and TIE / FO expansions and two brand new ships: the RZ-2 A-wing for Resistance and the Mining Guild TIE for Scum.
Nothing is known about specific Clone Wars units at Legion, so there is still room for speculation. What is concrete are the announcements of Chewbacca, Wookiee Warriors, and Rebel / Imperial Specialists.
And then the beef: The biggest miniature that FFG has ever released. The Super Star Destroyer is so gigantic that even new rules for Armada had to be devised. The "mini" is about the same size as the width of an average kitchen table. This will be a beautiful showpiece in everyone's collection anyway.
Are you interested in one of FFG's new products? Then keep the news on their website watch closely. In the course of the convention, more information will be brought out.
Star Wars game news on E3 2018
EA released the first information on a new Star Wars game at the E3 2018 on Saturday night. Jedi: Fallen Order is made by game developer Respawn, the same makers of Titanfall games. The game will take place between Revenge of the Sith en A New Hope, in the 'dark times' when the hunt for the Jedi is under way. You will crawl into the skin of a Padawan shortly after the events Revenge of the Sith. A hint to the release is also given: "Holiday 2019", around Christmas from 2019. Unfortunately, no footage has been shown and we will probably have to wait until Star Wars Celebration in Chicago (April 2019) before we see more of the game.
About Battlefront had EA - in addition to it news about the upcoming Solo Update - also mention interesting news. This is because it will appear later this year Clone Wars season for the game. With this free expansion, no less than four new characters will be added to the game: General Grievous, Count Dooku, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker! In addition, Geonosis is out Attack of the Clones as a folder added to the game. The content that will make more of this expansion has not been announced.
Han Solo season update for Battlefront 2
As promised, Star Wars Battlefront 2 had no season pass that allows gamers to download extensions for EA's multiplayer shooter video game within the Star Wars universe. As a result, a number of expansions will be issued during the course of the year, each centralized around a specific theme. Soon after the release of the game we were able to get started with the in-game season of The Last Jedi, now, of course, it is time for it Solo season!
Where else last month an update came out that Jabba's Palace (which was also included in the downloadable content of the previous Battlefront game), a new game mode and some skins added this month some more really new parts are added to the game. Although in terms of quantity this time it is not too bad to see that the Coaxium mines of Kessel as seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story incorporated into the game. Furthermore, some new skins are added for both Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and the Millennium Falcon, which now also has the characteristic appearance of the film in the game. Finally, the game mode Extraction is added, which was already in the previous Battlefront game.
The new update for Star Wars Battlefront 2 will appear on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 12 next Tuesday. For more Star Wars-related game news, we would like to remind you that the upcoming Saturday night from 4: 20 EA's press conference is scheduled at the biggest gaming fair in the world: the Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E00.
